Salt of the Earth Bakery was born in Brooklyn, New York, a place known for its creativity, culture, and appreciation for food made with heart. But more than a location, Brooklyn is part of who we are. It is where our kitchen lives, where our recipes are tested, and where our story continues to be written every day.
We are a small, family-owned bakery with a simple mission: to bring premium, thoughtfully made desserts back to the marketplace using real ingredients and honest baking. What began as a passion for reimagining classic treats has grown into a commitment to creating desserts that feel both nostalgic and elevated, like something you remember from childhood but better.
At the center of it all is our Executive Chef, who is also a wife and mother. She pours herself into every recipe while balancing the demands of family life with the discipline and creativity of a professional kitchen. Each dessert is carefully developed through countless rounds of testing and tasting until it meets the standard we believe our customers deserve. Nothing leaves our kitchen unless it is something we are proud to serve our own family.
As a Brooklyn-based small business, we take pride in doing things the right way, not the fast way. We use real, high-quality, all-natural ingredients and avoid artificial additives, because we believe food should always be worth eating. Our entire product line is also certified Kosher (OK-D), reflecting our commitment to thoughtful preparation and high standards. Our signature finishing touch, a delicate sprinkle of sea salt, brings balance and depth to every bite, turning familiar flavors into something unforgettable.
Our commitment to the environment extends beyond the kitchen. We partner with printing providers who prioritize recycling and use eco-friendly energy sources such as solar and hydro power. We are also proud to use 100% Fair Trade USA certified chocolate from Guittard Chocolate Company, supporting responsible sourcing and sustainable farming communities.
